What Australia Visa Is Right For Me

What Australia Visa is right for me

Australian Immigration has been in the news a lot recently, with lots of people searching out the requirements to move to Australia there has also been a sharp uplift in internet searches around specific visa types, of which in the case of Australia are many.

We’ve put together a useful overview of what popular Australia Visas people seek out although not everyone is eligible for each one. The criteria for each visa is very different which is why we offer free consultations to those looking at their Australia Visa options.

We have a no hard sell philosophy, this is about your move, your way.

Permanent Residency Visa Requirements

Subclass 189 Australia Visa
This visa is the most desired visa inn Australia. It allows the holder to live and work anywhere in Australia from day one, they can come and go as they please and one visa covers your whole immediate family (if applicable). With one holder of Permanent Residency all in the immediate family are granted the same status.

The 189 visa if often thought of as the first step towards Citizenship and Dual Nationality, a process which can start after being in country for four years.

Subclass 190 Visa Requirements
This Australia visa is identical to the 189 above, although with one distinction. Whilst the 189 is granted on a National level the 190 Visa is granted by one of the individual States & Territories.

This means that whilst with the 189 holders can live and work anywhere they choose from the start, the 190 means that you should live and work in the State which offers you the visa for a period of two years. After this time you are of course free to live and work anywhere in Australia that you choose.

Both of these visas are initially valid for a period of five years during which time it is expected that you will have enough cumulative years in country top qualify for Citizenship. If you don’t then the visa can be renewed for a further five years during which time you will be expected to have applied for Citizenship.

Which Australia Visa you end up with from the two Permanent Residency Visa classes often depends on a mixture of your points score and occupation.

Subclass 489 Visa
This visa is different to the Permanent residency subclasses in that it is valid for an initial four years, with the holders being required to live and work in a regional area. Providing the criteria of the visa is fulfilled it can then switch into Permanent Residency. The 489 Visa is a good option for those who maybe don’t have enough points for a 189 or 190 visa.

Subclass 457
This is known as the employers sponsored visa and requires an employer to sponsor the holder. It is temporary visa which can always convert into Permanent Residency visa via subclass 186.

Employment Sponsored Visas are getting harder and harder to secure due to the criteria the employer must fulfil. Take a look at our online jobs in Australia database for more information.

Subclass 186 Visa
After two years working on the 457 visa you can apply for the 189 Permanent ENS. To get this visa there are certain criteria that must be met including minimum salary requirements and a good conduct record in Australia.

Partner Visa Australia
The main partner Visa Classes are
Fiancé Visa– Subclass 300
Partner outside Australia – Subclass 309/100
Partner inside Australia – Subclass 820/801
